What does the button / External Access Kit (EAK) do?

	The button / External Accesss Kit (EAK) allows you to open the gate from the other side of the fence. The main part of the latch will be on one side of the fence and it will be connected to the EAK on the other side. The EAK operates differently depending on which model you use. Residential Series 2 Lokk Latch The main part of the latch and the EAK lock and unlock independently. In other words if the main part of the latch is locked you can NOT unlock it from the EAK. This does serve a particular need. For example, if your gate swings in, you can leave the EAK locked and the main part of the latch unlocked. This will keep people from entering your gate from the outside and allow you to freely exit the gate from the inside. Click for a Video Demonstration Heavy Duty Lokk Latch Deluxe The Lokk Latch Deluxe works more like your house door. It can be locked or unlocked from either side of the fence. Once you lock the latch it stays locked until you unlock it using the key. Or you can just leave it unlocked. Click for a Video Demonstration Commercial Lokk Latch Pro Self Locking (SL) The Lokk Latch Pro SL works a lot like the Deluxe model except it locks each time the gate closes. You have to open the gate with a key each time no matter which side of the fence you are on.
